GRID is an emerging technology requiring intensive investigations. A number of Georgian research centers are involved in the international collaborations that are intensively developing the GRID infrastructures for a co-operative work of thousands of specialists from hundreds of the institutions. A deployment of the GRID technologies in the Caucasian region will promote the more wide integration of Georgian specialists into the international scientific community via the GRID-enabled Virtual Organizations. The HEPI TSU (Tbilisi) team is assumed to be a leading institution in the Georgian GRID infrastructure development. This team is effectively working within the GRID project of the ATLAS and CMS experiments at CERN. In this paper we present a current status and future plans of the works for building the Georgian national GRID infrastructure.
