The main task of the Laboratory of Information Technologies is to provide the research program of JINR and the JINR Member State institutes with modern telecommunication, network, computing and information resources adequate to the requirements of international scientific cooperation.

In order to fulfill these requirements, it is necessary

  1. to provide JINR and its Member States with high-speed telecommunication data links;
  2. to create a high-speed, reliable and protected local area network (LAN) of JINR;
  3. to create and provide a maintenance of the distributed high-performance computing infrastructure and mass storage resources;
  4. to provide information, algorithmic and program support of the research-and-production activity of the Institute;
  5. to develop a GRID-segment of JINR and to provide its introduction in the European and global GRID-structures.

The current state and future plans are considered.
