Soboleva LOCATION The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) will host ICIS2003. JINR is an international institute situated in a small picturesque town of Dubna. Dubna is about 130 km north of Moscow on the bank of the Great Russian river Volga, 100 km from international airport Sheremetyevo. TOPICS FUNDAMENTALS AND THEORY: Ion Production, Beam Transport, Diagnostics, Ion Optics, Simulation and others. TYPES OF ION SOURCES: ECR, EBIS, RF, Microwave, Negative, Radioactive, Polarized, Liquid-metal, Vacuum arc, Laser ion sources, Surface ion sources and others. PROCEEDINGS The proceedings will be published in the Review of Scientific Instruments. Contributed papers will be limited to 3 pages and plenary or invited papers to 5 pages in the final journal proceedings. Authors must bring manuscripts with them to the conference and submit the manuscripts to the RSI Desk on the first day of the conference. It will cover the transportation from the airport or railway station and back, hotel accommodation (7 nights), the coffee/tea breaks, the Welcome Party, the Conference Proceedings, the Conference Dinner and the excursion to Moscow. The fee for the accompanying persons is USD 450. It will cover the transportation from the airport or railway station and back, hotel accommodation (7 nights), the Welcome Party and the excursion to Moscow. The special reduced fee of USD 450 will cover transportation service, shared-room accommodation, the coffee/tea breaks and the Welcome Party. Each of the additional payment can be made at the request of the participants: Conference Proceedings USD 120; Conference Dinner USD 40; Excursion to Moscow USD 50. REGISTRATION Registration for the Conference will take place at the Secretariat at Hotel "DUBNA" from 16.00 to 23.00 on Sunday, 7 September and on Monday, 8 September from 8.00 to 11.00 at the Secretariat at the Laboratory of Information Technologies. Delegates should be aware that all the sessions will take place at this Laboratory. TRANSPORTATION The Local Organizing Committee will arrange transportation to Dubna and back for the participants arriving and departing from Moscow international airport - Sheremetyevo. Sheremetyevo is situated about 30 km from Moscow and 100 km from Dubna. The participants are kindly requested to inform the Secretariat by either fax (7 09621 65891 or 7 09621 65599) or E-mail (valentina@jinr.ru) of their flight number, date and time. The information should come to the Secretariat not later than three working days before the arrival (deadline) or earlier at participants' convenience. Other delegates can reach Dubna either by train or by bus from Moscow railway station - Savelovskaya (metro "Savelovskaya"). Trains leave the station every three or two hours according to the time-table (see http://www.dubna.ru/transport.php ). ACCOMMODATION Participants will be lodged in the hotel "Dubna". The hotel has guest rooms equipped with a shower or a bath, a telephone and a TV. The daily rate includes breakfast. The participants needn't book the room beforehand. The average temperature is about 15-20 degrees Centigrade during the day and 10-15 degrees Centigrade at night. It might be cool and to have a warm pullover and an umbrella at hand will be quite good. SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM The Scientific Program Committee has accepted all the reports, the abstract to which were submitted to the Conference Organizing Committee. The type and date of presentation will be available on our Web site as soon as the Conference Program has been compiled. SOCIAL EVENTS Social programme for the participants of the ICIS2003 will include 07 SEPTEMBER Welcome Party; 10 SEPTEMBER Excursion to Moscow (the Kremlin, Red Square, the Church of the God the Saviour, etc.); 11 SEPTEMBER Visit to JINR Laboratories; 11 SEPTEMBER Concert of Dubna children ballet and choral schools (free of charge); 12 SEPTEMBER Conference Dinner. Programme for Accompanying Persons 8 SEPTEMBER, MONDAY, 10 a.m. - an excursion round the town of Dubna (free of charge). 9 SEPTEMBER, TUESDAY, 9 a.m. to about 5 p.m. -an excursion to Sergiev Posad (former name Zagorsk). The Russian Orthodox Church Center with its 500-year old Trinity Lavra (the holy monastery). The price for this excursion is USD 25. 10 SEPTEMBER, WEDNESDAY, 8 a.m. - a trip to Moscow. The price is included in the Conference Fee. 11 SEPTEMBER, THURSDAY, 9 a.m. - an excursion will be defined later. In the evening, a concert of Dubna children ballet and choral schools is planned (free of charge). 12 SEPTEMBER - Conference Dinner.
