Charmed and Strange Quarks in Hadronic Reactions
(OSCAR)

Scientific Programme:

Experiment EXCHARM-II at IHEP (Protvino) is designed to search for exotic states with strange quarks and to study the production and decay of particles with charmed and strange quarks.
Experiment NA48 at CERN is purposed to obtain the most precise data on searching for the "direct" CP-violation in kaon decays. As a continuation of the experiment, a high sensitivity investigation of K_s and neutral hyperon decays using a modified K_s beam will be carried out and a precision measurement of charged kaon decay parameters with extended NA48 set-up is proposed.
Experiment H1 is purposed to study processes of deep-inelastic ep-scattering in a wide kinematic range up to very high Q ² and down to very low Bjorken x to test QCD and electroweak sectors of the Standard Model.

Expected main results in 2001:

The ^'/ measurement systematic error sources will be investigated.
^'/ will be measured on the basis of the data recorded in 1997-2000.
New experimental data will be recorded and analysed.
New programmes to check data recording, for simulation and data analyses will be developed.
Preparation for the new experimental programme of charged kaon decay investigation will be started.
The basic mass production Monte-Carlo calculation will be completed for 1997-2000 runs.
DCH reparation will be completed.
A-dependence of the ^o and ^- inclusive production cross-sections will be studied.
Bose-Einstein correlations for identical boson pair will be investigated.
^- and ⁺ inclusive production cross-sections will be measured.
^- - polarization will be measured.
New BPC chamber, PLUG detector will be designed, constructed and tested.
New programmes for Monte-Carlo simulation will be developed for BPC, PLUG and FPS-detectors.
