ALICE: A Large Ion Collider Experiment at CERN's LHC
(Project ALICE)

Scientific Programme:

Major responsibilities of the JINR team are as follows:
1. Design and construction of the large dipole magnet for the muon
spectrometer. 2. Design and construction of the readout chambers and FEE for TRD/ALICE.
3. Participation in the development and manufacture of the detectors for the ALICE set-up.
4. Participation in the software development for the ALICE set-up.
5. Preparation of the physics research programme for LHC.

• Design of the coilsupport and fixation system of the dipole magnet. Construction of the iron yoke. Beginning of the construction of the coilsupport and fixation system.
  
  
• Design and construction of the full-scale prototype of the readout chamber for TRD/ALICE. Preparing of the facility for the chamber production.
  
  
• Modeling and prototyping work on particle detectors. Preparation of detector, assembly area with "clean" room facility. Production and testing of crystals for the photon spectrometer. Participation in beam tests of muon chambers.
  
  
• Simulation of physics processes. Preparation of the physics programme.
  
  
• Software development for simulation and track reconstruction for the dimuon spectrometer and inner tracking system.
  
  
• Calculations, data analysis on the study of Cherenkov radiation and preparation of an article.
