Development of the Nuclotron Accelerator Complex

Leader:

A. Kovalenko
A. Malakhov

Scientific Programme:

Operation of the Nuclotron, internal and external target experiments. Development of the Nuclotron beam extraction system. Upgrade of the Nuclotron cryogenic system. Development of superconducting magnets for heavy-ion synchrotrons and beam transport channels. Increase of the beam intensity and extension of available nuclear beams. Development of the ion sources: laser, electron beam ionization scanner (CRION), polarized deuterons (Polaris). Upgrade of linac LU-20 (Z/A 0.28). Technical design and preparations for the booster ring construction. Development of the beam transport system.

Expected main results in 2002:
