Theoretical and Experimental Investigations of the Electronuclear Method of Energy Production and Radioactive Waste Transmutation

• Creation of a specialized channel to irradiate neutron-conducting targets and activation detectors on the IX beam of DLNP Phasotron. Measurement of activity of isotopes generated in thick targets exposed to 0.66-2.0 GeV protons. Measurement of spectroscopic-angular neutron spectra from the thick heavy target irradiated with 600 MeV protons. Measuring of neutron spectra on the surface of a heavy neutron-conducting target irradiated with 660 MeV protons. Measuring the isotope composition and activities of radionuclides generated at irradiation of the samples of minor actinides and fission products in fields of radiation from the heavy target exposed to 0.66-2.0 GeV protons.
  
  
• Continuation of experiments on measuring the time characteristics of neutron fields in the sub-critical system with thermal spectrum (YALINA) controlled by a pulsing proton beam. Processing of data obtained on the 660 MeV phasotron of DLNP and the sub-critical assembly YALINA.
  
  
• Modelling the parameters of sub-critical assemblies in combination with a proton accelerator and a neutron generator:
  a) optimization of the sub-critical assembly in Dubna (SAD) structure and composition;
  b) calculation of energy release in constructional devices of SAD;
  c) calculations related to determination of dependence of the effective neutron multiplication coefficient K_eff on modification of the SAD construction;
  d) calculations on the radiation shielding of the installation, estimation of the ionizing radiation dose around the SAD;
  e) preparation of cross-sections and calculations of induced activity in devices of SAD and radiation shielding;
  f) calculation on the neutron spectra on the surface and around the thick target irradiated by 660 MeV protons; g) calculations related to preparation and carrying out experiments on irradiation of radioactive isotopes samples in fields of neutrons generated in thick targets exposed to 0.66 -- 2.0 GeV protons.
