Investigation of Fundamental Interactions in Nuclei
at Low Energies

Leader:   V.B. Brudanin

Scientific Programme:
Investigation of electron-neutrino angular correlation in nuclear -decay aimed to obtain new experimental upper limits for the admixture of scalar and tensor interactions to the standard V-A model. Search for neutrinoless double beta decay and wide investigation of two-neutrino -decay of 100Mo, 150Nd, 106Cd, 48Ca, 76Ge, and other isotopes in the international experiments NEMO, TGV. Quantitative estimation of new physics phenomena (Supersymmetry, Compositeness, Lepto-quarks, etc.) in cosmology, accelerator physics and rare decays. Investigation of weak and electomagnet properties of neutrons.
Research and development of new cryogenic methods of detection to search for Weak Interacting Massive Particles as candidates for non-baryonic Dark Matter in the Universe. Research and development of new types of semiconductor germanium detectors for future generation of non-accelerator experiments within the framework of the GERDA and MAJORANA projects. Nuclear spectroscopy of nuclei far from stability; investigation of - and -decay aimed to obtain new information of nuclear properties such as bounding energies, masses, coupling energies, etc. Investigation of interactions of light nuclei at astrophysical energies with plasma accelerators. Development of diagnostics methods for the dynamics of the dense plasma fluxes. Development of new radiochemical methods for extraction of rare nuclides and new types of scintillators. Creation of the experimental setup and investigation of dd, pd and d 3He reactions at ultralow energies by using a Z-pinch.
