ALICE: A Large Ion Collider Experiment at CERN's LHC
(Project ALICE)

Project leader:   A.S. Vodopianov

Scientific Programme:
The ALICE Collaboration has proposed a dedicated detector to study high-energy heavy-ion collisions at LHC CERN. Major responsibilities of the JINR team are the following:
1. Design and construction of the large dipole magnet for the muon spectrometer.
2. Design and construction of the readout chambers and FEE for TRD/ALICE.
3. Participation in the development and manufacture of detectors for the ALICE setup.
4. Participation in the software development for the ALICE setup.
5. Preparation of the physics research programme for LHC.
6. Preparation of the physics performance report.
7. Participation in the construction of the photon spectrometer PHOS/ALICE.
8. Preparation to the development and analysis of LHC data in the distributed computing environment-GRID. The development and analysis of these data.
