Scientific Programme:
Study of charge-exchange processes in dp -interactions. The measurements of complete set of the np spin observables at 0 o - L(np), T(np), A00kk(np), A00nn(np) and Rdp (the total np cross section differences and spin-correlation parameters), using longitudinal (L) and transverse (T) polarized and unpolarized targets as well as quasi-monochromatic relativistic 1-6 GeV neutron beams.Determination of the forward scattering NN amplitudes over this energy region. Comparison of the obtained data with QCD motivated model calculations. Measurement of analyzing powers for the reaction p + CH2 at polarized proton momentum 3-6 GeV/c. Design and construction of a large aperture polarimeter ALPOM.
Study of highly excited nuclear matter and collectivity effects in nuclear medium; delta and other nucleonic resonance excitations on protons and nuclei. Works on modernization of Saclay-Argonne-JINR polarized proton target. Theoretical investigation of non-nucleon degrees of freedom in the simplest nuclear systems with contribution of relativistic effects, meson and quark-gluon components of the internal movement. Construction of the new models and mechanisms of the processes for which such effects can be manifested in. Exclusive measurements of the rare processes associated with light mesons production, interactions and decay. The study of the properties of strongly interacting matter utilizing polarization phenomena in hadron-nucleon and lepton-nucleon interactions, and in the decay of polarized radioactive atomic nuclei. Obtaining of experimental data on 3He and tritium spin structure up to internal momentum of 600 MeV/c. Preparation of the setup for studying deuteron-proton elastic scattering and deuteron break-up at the Nuclotron internal target. Data taking at polarized deuteron beam. Preparation of the experiment on investigation d p reaction with the use of polarized 3He target and polarized deuteron beam of the Nuclotron. Preparation of the setup and data taking on the light neutral mesons production in polarized nucleons interaction.
