Scientific Programme:
The main goals are to investigate properties of atomic nuclei at the limits of their stability; to study dynamics of nuclear reactions and mechanisms of production of exotic nuclides; to investigate fundamental properties of exotic few-body nuclear, atomic and molecular systems; to study the behaviour of nuclear matter and its phase transitions at high temperature and density; to evaluate new methods of relativistic nuclear physics and apply them to analyze subnuclear and spin effects in few-nucleon systems.

Expected main results in 2008:

Study of spin-dipole charge-exchange resonances within the QPRPA with finite rank approximation for Skyrme interactions.

Calculations of the multiplicity patterns of neutrons emitted after muon capture to extract the distribution of Gamow-Teller strength over the excitation energy.

Development of a model for odd-even nuclei based on the extended RPA. Study of the low-lying excitations in ¹⁸⁷W and ¹⁶⁰Ho within the QPM.

Study of fusion reaction with carbon/oxygen at astrophysical energies in the frame of a consistent quantum-mechanical approach.
Investigation of shapes and fission valles of ²²⁶Th and ²⁵⁶No.

Investigation of manifestations of supersymmetry in the low-lying spectrum of ¹⁹³Os.

Study of a possibility of production of neutron deficient isotopes of Pu and Cm in the reaction of complete fusion.

Investigation of cluster emission (from He to Si) from ¹⁵⁴Xe at the excitation energy higher than 100 MeV.

Investigation of stability of the neutron rich and neutron deficient isotopes of Fe, Ni and Zn.
Calculation of binding energies for the systems consisting of the meson and a few neutrons.

Study of ultracold two-component fermion systems in traps and optical lattices.

Further development of the unitary isobar model adopted for predictions and analysis of the observables in pion photo- and electroproduction.

Analysis of regular solutions to the Faddeev equations in the vicinity of the two-body collision point.

Sharp norm estimates on variation of the spectral subspaces under J-self-adjoint perturbations.
Study of energy correlations in transitions from the bound state to the three-body continuum of Borromean halo nuclei within the three-body cluster model.

An estimate of the viscosity-to-entropy ratio within the relativistic mean-field model with density-dependent hadron masses and coupling constants.

Analysis of the experimental data on the p + ⁸He, ⁸Be, ⁸B elastic differential cross sections with the microscopically calculated optical potential.
