Charmed and Strange Quarks in Hadronic Reactions

Scientific Programme:
Experiments NA48 and OKAPI at CERN is purposed to obtain the most precise data on the CP-violation processes, kaon decay parameters including the pions rescattering phenomena in these decays, and rare kaon decays. The experiment is continued for a high sensitivity study of charged and neutral kaon decays and hyperon decays using a modified kaon beam line and the upgraded NA48 setup.

Expected main results in 2009:

New experimental data will be processed and analysed.
New results on kaon and hyperon rare decays will be obtained, on the basis of data accunulated in 1999-2004 and 2007-2008 runs.
New program codes will be developed for simulation and data analyses of the runs 2007-2008.
A test runs at the CERN SPS will be carried out in 2007-2008.
Preparation of new proposal to study kaon very rare decays at CERN SPS and carrying out of works to construct a straw-tube working prototype detector for this experiment.
