Study of Rare Charged Kaon Decays in Experiments at the CERN SPS

Scientific Programme:
Realization of the NA62 Project allows to clarify CH-violation problem, to measure precisely ultra rare charged kaon decay to charged pion and two neutrinos, to carried out a search for supersymmetric particles and their partners with a goal to observe a physics beyond the Standard Model. In addition precise characteristics of rate kaon and hyperon decays will be measured. A high resolution magnetic spectrometer on a base of straw drift tubes working in vacuum will be designed and constructed on a stage of preparation of the experiment. Software for simulation, data processing and analysis will be developed.

Expected main results in 2010:

An analysis of the experimental data recorded in 2007-2009 by the prototypes of the straw detector will be completed.
A design of the full scale straw detector will be completed; detector production will be started up.
Mass production of straw tubes will be started.
A special zone for straw assembling and straw quality control will be constructed at the LHEP.
Software for the magnetic spectrometer simulation and for a simulation of full set-up will be development; system for detector calibration and event reconstruction will be upgrade; common software of the experi-ment will be development.
Participation in tests of straw detector elements in lab and on the particle beams.
