Improvement of the JINR Phasotron and Design of Cyclotrons for Fundamental and Applied Research

Scientific Programme:
Improvement of the JINR Phasotron and beam channels. Design of the cyclotrons for medical purposes. Development of the cyclotron method for high-current beam acceleration.

Expected main results in 2011:

Commissioning of the main Phasotron magnet power supply TPP-5000. Production of the new current pulsation suppression systems for ZhTK power supplies. Beam dynamics simulation in the Phasotron extraction system. Simulations and optimization of the acceleration system of the C250 cyclotron intended for proton therapy.
Adjustment and testing of the apparatus for integral measurements of the radial component of the magnetic field of the cyclotron C235 (IBA, Belgium). Magnetic field measurements and shimming of the Br component for the cyclotron C235, PAP-113. Modeling of the RF cavity of the superconducting Carbon/Proton therapy cyclotron C400 (IBA, Belgium). Beam dynamics simulation in the extraction region.
Simulations of the high-intensity beam dynamics in the ring cyclotron with extraction energy 700-800 MeV.
