Scientific Programme:
R&D works in particle accelerator physics and engineering, construction of the free electron laser with the aim to prepare proposals for the project of JINR participation in international collaboration on construction of the International Linear Collider (ILC).

Expected main results in 2012:

Development of technology, manufacturing prototypes and studies photo cathodes. Studies of the cathode quantum efficiency on the test stand of the prototype ILC complex photo injector (photocathode e-gun and laser =266 nm, _puls=75 ps; I = 15 A).
Commissioning of the LINAC-800 first segment with electron energy 20 MeV.
Development of a principal scheme of high-precision metrological laser complex with extended coordinate axis up to 20 km (first stage work). The measurement of the angular component of seismic noise at the earths' surface. Development of the technical assignment and the creation of the prototype system for the compensation of a seismic noise (ang. comp.) in stabilizing the position of a laser source.
Participation in development and design works on cryogenic modules for accelerating systems of the linear accelerator. Development of technologies for bimetallic interconnections at RF resonators construction: process refinement for manufacturing of the explosion welded Nb+SS transitions accommodated to real design of cryomodules. Production and full cryovacuum tests of new designed samples. The computation of a 9-cell superconducting Nb-resonator. The creation of cryogenic stand for SHF-tests of Nb-resonators. The production of the prototypes of single-cell resonators.
Optimization of the placement of the elements of ILC complex in Dubna region.
Experimental studies of technology of high energy electron beam formation for electron cooler of new generation.
Low Energy Particle Ring LEPTA: research of dynamics of the circulating positron beam and electron cooling of positrons, Positronium generation.
The FLASH undulator constructed at JINR is applied for infrared radiation generation and measurements of the electron bunch shapes. Investigation of electron beam and FEL physics: experimental work with coherent synchrotron radiation, construction of detectors on besis of micro channel plates for European XFEL, construction of FEL photo injector laser system applied for formation of 3D ellipsoid shape bunches of light radiation.
