CMS. Compact Muon Solenoid at the LHC

Leader:     A.V. Zarubin
Scientific leader:         I.A. Golutvin

Participating Countries, Institutes and International organizations:
Armenia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, CERN, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Iran, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Pakistan, Poland, Republic of Korea, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, USA, Uzbekistan.

Scientific Programme:
The CMS Collaboration has constructed a general-purpose detector to be operational at the start-up of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC/CERN) to exploit its full discovery potential. Study of fundamental properties of the matter in Super High Energy proton-proton and nucleus-nucleaus interactions.
The major activities of JINR are focused on the following directions:
- forward calorimetry, including endcap hadron, and preshower detector;
- forward muon stations with cathode strip chambers;
- development of Physics program to test SM and BSM.
