Program title: BRANECODE
Catalogue identifier: ADVX
Journal reference: Comput. Phys. Commun. 171(2005)69
Programming language: C++.
Computer: Sun workstation.
Operating system: Unix, Linux.
RAM: less than 1MB
Keywords: Numerical String theory, Braneworld dynamics, Brane cosmology, Brane collision, Non-linear evolution.
PACS: 11.25.Wx, 04.25.Dm, 04.50.+h.
Classification: 1.9, 1.5.

Nature of problem:
Dynamics of two co-dimension one branes in a five-dimensional spacetime with a bulk scalar field and arbitrary potentials. The dynamics is governed by the five-dimensional Einstein equations of gravity and the junction conditions at the position of the branes.

Solution method:
Leapfrog Algorithm to solve system of (1+1)-dimensional partial differential equations; Initial & boundary value problem

Restrictions:
Assumption of homogeneity along three spatial dimensions parallel to the branes.

Running time:
Depending on the grid size and length of the time evolution: from ~ 1 sec to ~ 1 hours or longer
