Nonlinear Dynamics of Electron Beams with Virtual Cathode

Review of results of theoretical investigation of high-current electron beams with virtual cathode (VC) is presented. VC classification, analytical solutions of tasks on VC formation dynamics, results of self-consistent computer simulation of beams dynamics with VC, where unusual phenomena take place, are presented. Revealed phenomena may be used in microwave generators techniques, accelerating and commutation equipment.
