Physics Research with the DELPHI Detector at LEP

Leader:

A. Olshevski

Scientific Programme:

DELPHI is a general-purpose detector for physics at LEP on and above the Z 0, offering three-dimensional information on curvature and energy deposition with fine spatial granularity as well as identification of leptons and hadrons over most of the solid angle. During the years of LEP operation, the DELPHI detector has been running in stable conditions providing data for precise Z-boson physics. At present a number of important results concerning the electroweak theory, QCD studies, b-quark physics search for new particle as well as some others have been obtained by the DELPHI collaboration. New results of improved quality are expected in the near future, especially when taking into account that the DELPHI detector runs at high luminosity and high energy LEPII.

Expected main results in 2001:
