Particle Accelerator Physics and Engineering

Scientific Programme:

• Development of electron cooling method:
  - Design of electron cooling systems for ACR and DSR (RIKEN) and testing of their elements.
  - Formation and recuperation of intense electron beams with small diameter.
  - Influence of charge-mass ratio of secondary ions on the stability of the neutralized electron beam formed by the electron gun with a cut anode.
  - Optical measurements of the electron gun characteristics with cut anode.
  
  
• Design of cryogenic system elements for JINR, CERN:
  - Testing of prototypes and manufacturing of cryogenic high-current leads for LHC.
  - Design of super fluid helium safety relief valve for LHC.
  
  
• Theoretical and experimental investigation on ion sources:
  - Calculation and design of ion source elements and transportation channels. - Elaboration of the solid material loader device to ECR source by the laser.
  - Design of the ion source X-ray diagnostics.
  - Development of the program code for simulations of the process in ion sources.
  
  
• Design and construction of LEPTA:
  - Manufacturing of the magnetic system elements.
  - Testing of the vacuum chamber elements.
  - Design of the positron source.
  - Development of the program code for charged particle dynamics simulations in storage rings with strong transverse coupling.
  - Design of the electron cooling system with circulating electron beam for COSY storage ring.
