Charmed and Strange Quarks in Hadronic Reactions
(OSCAR)

Scientific Programme:

Experiment EXCHARM-II at IHEP (Protvino) is designed to search for exotic states with strange quarks and to study the production and decay of particles with charmed and strange quarks.
Experiment NA48 at CERN is purposed to obtain the most precise data on the "direct" CP-violation in kaon decays. The experiment is continued for a high sensitivity study of K_s and neutral hyperon decays using a modified K_s beam, and precision measurement of charged kaon decay parameters with the upgraded NA48 set-up.
Experiment H1 is purposed to study processes of deep-inelastic ep-scattering in a wide kinematic range up to very high Q ² and down to very low Bjorken x to test QCD and electroweak sectors of the Standard Model.

Expected main results in 2002:

New experimental data will be accumulated and analysed.
^'/ will be measured on the basis of the data recorded in 2001 and some systematical errors will be specified.
The NA48 setup will be upgraded for the new experimental programme to study charged kaon decays.
New results on K_s and hyperon rare decays will be obtained on the base of 1999-2002 data.
New programmes to monitor data taking, for simulation and data analyses will be developed.
Preparation for the new experimental programme to study charged kaon decay, will be continued.
The basic mass production Monte-Carlo simulation for 2001 run will be completed.
The inclusive production cross-sections of ^- and ⁺ will be measured.
The A-dependence of hyperons inclusive production cross-section will be measured.
The investigation Bose-Einstein correlations the identical boson pair will be continued.
Polarization of ^- will be measured.
New BPC chamber, PLUG detector and FPS spectometer will be in operation.
New reconstruction programmes for BPC, PLUG and FPS-detectors will be developed and operated.
Diffractive structure function F₂ ^D(3) will be measured in DIS processes with a leading proton in the final state.
