Development of the IBR-2 Spectrometer Complex
and Information-Computation Infrastructure

Scientific Programme:
Upgrading of the existing IBR-2 spectrometers and creation of new spectrometers.
Design and construction of new detectors, neutron optical systems, and mechanical systems of the spectrometers.
Development of the electronic equipment and program packets for data acquisition systems, extension of the local area network (LAN), realization of the MCC project.

Expected main results in 2003:

Organization of a PC-cluster.
Completion of the development and putting into service of new VME-PCI interface based software at the NERA-PR spectrometer.
Development of software in OS Windows for data acquisition and analysis for PSD with delay line data readout.
Design of electronics for a neutron detector with data readout from every wire.
Development of the SPN spectrometer.
Manufacturing of 3 sections (12 elements) of the ASTRA 90^o-detector for the FSD spectrometer.
Design of a test model of 90^o-detector for the DN-12 spectrometer.
Design of a prototype of MSGD detector with a sensitive area of 100100 mm ² and coordinate resolution of 0.5-1 mm:
a) desogn and construction of a neutron spin-flipper generator;
b) construction and testing of polarization 90^o-rotator;
c) putting into operation of the VME data acquisition system.
