Scientific Programme:
Search for long base line neutrino oscillations and study of neutrino oscillation parameters with the OPERA detector in the CNGS beam (CERN -- Gran Sasso).

Expected main results in 2004:

Construction of the automatic control systems for the scintillator polymerizer and extruder.
Design and construction of the scintillator Quality Control.
Participation in the assembly and calibration of Target Tracker modules.
Design of the optical system and vertical movement control system for the emulsion scanning microscope.
Participation in the software development.
Optimization of experiments for measurement of the mixing angle ₁₃ and study of the possibility of observing CP-violation in the neutrino sector.
