Investigation of Secondary Particle Production and Neutron Yield from Heavy Targets in Nucleus-Nucleus Interactions. Studies of the Transmutation of Radioactive Wastes from Nuclear Power Installations

Scientific Programme:
The aim of the project is experimental study of energy and space distribution of secondary particles produced in extended metal targets (GAMMA-2 facility) as well as investigation of residual nuclei formation in thin targets of transuranic isotopes in nuclear interactions using the LHE Nuclotron proton beams with energies 1-5 GeV. Estimation of transmutation cross-sections of long-lived radioactive isotopes.
