ALICE: A Large Ion Collider Experiment at CERN's LHC
(Project ALICE)

Project leader:        A.S. Vodopianov

Scientific Programme:
The ALICE Collaboration has proposed a dedicated detector to study high-energy heavy-ion collisions at LHC CERN. Major responsibilities of the JINR team are the following:
      1. Startup of the ALICE detector. Beginning of the data taking.
      2. Participation in the design and construction of ALICE detector subsystems.
      3. Participation in the development of software.
      4. Preparation of the physics project in relativistic heavy ions and protons beams.
      5. Construction of transition radiation detectors.
      6. Participation in the development and construction of photon
      7. Preparation to the reconstruction and analysis of LHC data in the distributed computing environment-GRID. Data analysis.
