The session covered a wide range of issues, including training highly qualified specialists for large-scale nuclear physics projects . A joint bachelor’s and master’s degree double diplomas programme is considered as one of the promising solutions. As Grigory Trubnikov noted, the Joint Institute has a rich and successful experience in implementing such programmes with universities in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Special attention was paid to applied nuclear physics projects for biomedicine, information technology, and agro-industrial complex. In addition, the parties focused on issues of international scientific cooperation prospects and the development of scientific infrastructure in Minsk and Dubna. The partnership between the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and the Belarusian State University has a long history. Graduates of the BSU Faculty of Physics have played a key role in the development of the Institute since its foundation.
The Institute of Nuclear Problems of BSU (INP BSU) currently coordinates the scientific and organizational partnership of Belarusian organizations with JINR, contributing to the steady growth of exports to the Belarusian scientific centre. Belarus‘ participation in the NICA Megascience Project includes the supply of specialised electronics, the precision machining of metal blanks for a magnetic system, the engineering of superconducting resonators and discharge detectors, and the creation and supply of a cooling and thermal stabilisation system for the TPC and ECal detectors of the MPD (Multi-Purpose Detector) Experimental Facility.
