Awards and titles

At the yearend

At the December meeting of the Science and Technology Council, a ceremonial presenting of honorary awards to JINR employees was held.

The Letter of Gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation was awarded to FLNR Scientific Leader Yuri Oganessian for his contribution to the development of science, many years of fruitful work and on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the establishment of the Russian Academy of Sciences

Awards of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation:

Certificate of Merit for significant achievements in the field of science and conscientious work was awarded to Adviser to FLNP Directorate Marina Frontasyeva;

Letter of Gratitude for many years of conscientious work and success in work was awarded to VBLHEP leading researcher Vyacheslav Zhabitsky.

Awards of the Rosatom State Corporation:

II class Badge of Merit "For contribution to the development of the nuclear industry" was awarded to FLNR chief technical specialist Georgy Gulbekyan;

Certificate of Merit for many years of conscientious work, success in research activities and personal contribution to the development of the nuclear industry was awarded to BLTP leading researcher Elena Kolganova;

Letter of Gratitude of the Director General of the Rosatom State Corporation was awarded to VBLHEP deputy chief engineer Konstantin Mukhin.

For significant contribution to science and technology development of the residence country of JINR and for assistance provided to the Russian Academy of Sciences in meeting the tasks assigned to it, Jubilee Medal "300 years of the Russian Academy of Sciences" was awarded to:

  • BLTP chief researcher Mikhail Ivanov;
  • Head of VBLHEP Department Mikhail Kapishin;
  • BLTP leading researcher Elena Kolganova;
  • Head of VBLHEP Sector Oleg Rogachevsky.

For many years of conscientious work and high professionalism in performing official duties, Honorary Diplomas of the Council of Deputies of the Dubna City District were awarded to:

  • JINR leading accountant Tatyana Ivanova;
  • Chef of the JINR Hotel and Restaurant Complex Management Office Maria Kalenova.

24 employees of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research were awarded with JINR Letters of Gratitude for the preparation and holding of special events on the organization of the start of the technological launch of the NICA complex.

Professors of Dubna State University

On 25 December, at the final meeting of the Scientific Council of Dubna State University, the titles of Honored and Distinguished Professor were awarded to seven outstanding JINR scientists working at the University.

The title of Distinguished Professor was awarded to:

  • FLNR Scientific Leader, Head of the Department of Nuclear Physics at Dubna University Yuri Oganessian;
  • LRB Scientific Leader, Head of the Department of Biophysics Evgeny Krasavin;
  • MLIT Scientific Leader, Head of the Department of Distributed Information and Computing Systems Vladimir Korenkov.

The title of Honorary Professor was awarded to:

  • VBLHEP Deputy Director for Research, Professor of the Department of Fundamental Problems of Microworld Physics Alexander Sorin;
  • Head of the VBLHEP Sector for Research of the Structure of Nuclei and Particles under Extreme Conditions, Head of the Department of General Physics Mikhail Tokarev;
  • Head of the VBLHEP Department of Heavy Ion Physics, Head of the Department of Physical and Technical Systems Alexander Malakhov;
  • BLTP leading researcher, Professor of the Department of Fundamental Problems of Microworld Physics Vladimir Melezhik.

Youth Prizes and Grants

The results of the JINR competition for young scientists and specialists for 2024 have been announced. They are awarded annually in nominations for the most significant papers in the fields of experimental, theoretical and applied physics research, methodology and technology performed by young scientists and specialists under and including 35 years.

Theoretical physics research:
Second prize - Nikita Tsegelnik (BLTP);
Incentive prize - Maria Mardyban (BLTP).

Experimental physics research:
Second prize - Tatyana Khramko (LRB); Incentive prize - Polina Gergelezhiu (FLNP), Vladislav Shalaev (VBLHEP), Aniruddha Dey (FLNR), Anh Mai (FLNR).

Methodology and technology:
Second prize - Elizaveta Bushmina (VBLHEP), Alexander Popov (FLNP);
Incentive prize - Igor Liashko (DLNP).

Applied physics research:
Incentive prize - Marina Donets (FLNP), Veronika Smirnova (FLNP).

Technology and applied physics research:
Second prize - Ivan Sokolov (MLIT);
Incentive prize - Tatyana Zaikina (MLIT).

In December, the Central Expert Commission summed up the results of the 2025 Grant Competition for JINR Young Scientists and Specialists held by the Association of Scientists and Specialists of JINR.

The Grants that will be issued monthly from January to December 2025, were awarded to 53 researchers, 41 specialists and 12 highly qualified workers from all laboratories and Management of the Institute:

  • 34 VBLHEP employees,
  • 16 DLNP employees,
  • 16 FLNR employees,
  • 15 FLNP employees,
  • 6 BLTP employees,
  • 5 MLIT employees,
  • 3 LRB employees,
  • 11 employees of the Management and Services.

Diplomas for prize winners and scholarship holders

On 26 December, at an extended meeting of FLNP Directorate, the winners of the I.M.Frank Scholarship for 2025 were announced. They are Sergey Kurakin, Maxim Zakharov, Bulat Bakirov, Ahmed Hassan and Nikita Yushin.

On 27 December, at a festive meeting of the MLIT staff, JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov, MLIT Director Sergey Shmatov and MLIT Scientific Leader Vladimir Korenkov awarded the young MLIT employees with diplomas.

The winners of the 2025 Grant Competition for JINR Young Scientists and Specialists are:

Andrey Kondratyev, Igor Pelevanyuk, Ivan Sokolov in the nomination "Grant for young researchers";
Andrey Evlanov and Anna Ilyina in the nomination "Grant for young specialists".

The winners of the M.G.Meshcheryakov Scholarship in the field of mathematical support for experimental and theoretical physics are Dina Badreeva, Nikita Greben, Alexey Didorenko, Ilya Satyshev, Alexander Khmelev, Egor Tsamtsurov.

The winners of the N.N.Govorun Scholarship in the field of information, computer and network support for JINR activities are Anastasia Anikina, Natalya Belyakova, Ilyas Kalagin, Ivan Kashunin, Daria Stankus.
