About the Institute, for the Institute

On 13 April, the base departments of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research were presented to applicants at the Open Doors Day at MEPhI and MIPT.

At the JINR stands, JINR scientists told schoolchildren, their parents and teachers about the basic areas of the departments' courses, about research at JINR, about internships and practical training for students of the MIPT Department of Fundamental and Applied Problems of Microworld Physics (Head of the Department Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences D.I.Kazakov) and about the Department of MEPhI of Experimental Techniques of Nuclear Physics (Head of the Department Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences V.A.Matveev).

The JINR University Centre develops and coordinates a unified educational process for these departments in order to train highly qualified personnel for JINR and the Member States. For this purpose, the UC attracts leading staff members of the Institute to educational activities and helps in organizing the scientific work of senior students in the research staffs of the Institute.

We hope that this day inspired young scientists to choose a career in physics and related disciplines.
