Oganesson Prize for Young Scientists

The establishment of the Oganesson Prize was announced on the day of Yuri Oganessian's 90th birthday that was celebrated on 14 April at the Central House of Scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow.

Not only young scientists, but also popularizers of science will be able to become winners of the Oganesson Prize. The award programme is aimed at encouraging young scientists and specialists that have achieved success in theoretical and experimental research in the field of physics, chemistry, biology and applied problems. In addition, the Prize will be awarded to science journalists and science popularizers. The start of the competition for the Oganesson Prize is scheduled for summer-autumn 2023. "On birthday and especially on anniversary, it is pleasant for one not only to receive gifts, but also to give them and Yuri Tsolakovich has decided to make a present for young scientists by establishing the Oganesson Prize," JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov mentioned in his speech at the solemn seminar at the Central House of Scientists.
