At the 35th International Computer School in Ratmino

At the beginning of July, the 35th jubilee Summer International Computer School named after V.Volokitin and E.Shirkova (ICS-2023) started. The School is held at the JINR Resort Hotel “Ratmino”.

To take part in the School, 5-11 – grade school students passed a preliminary selection. During two weeks, the school students will work on their educational and research or engineering and design projects under the supervision of experienced mentors. Participants may choose physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology, or robotics for their projects. Moreover, the ICS programme includes special courses by choice aimed at deepening and updating knowledge given by secondary schools, lectures by scientists and specialists, rich cultural programme, team games.

Organizers claim the event to be a summer school for children based on the educational approach somewhat different from that of the generally accepted school tradition. The School’s goal is not to give ready-made answers but to welcome participants to carry out research.

The School will last until 18 July and will end with a reporting conference of participants.
