Dreams come true at JINR

The JINR Telegram channel held a drawing for the album "Academician Yuri Tsolakovich Oganessian. Portrait against the background of the era" autographed by the legendary scientist.

Congratulating Elena that was pointed out by the prank drawing, we learned that we had the joy of making someone's dream come true... Elena took part in the drawing to support her son, for whom Academician Oganessian is an idol. By the way, his name is also Yury. Among the 281 participants, luck randomly found a person that was simply eager to win. To increase his chances, Yura Gorbachev convinced his entire family and many friends to take part in the drawing. It already looks like a miracle, but that's not all.

"I am delighted. This is incredible! Dreams come true!", a 10th grade student from Lyceum No. 6 in the city of Dubna rejoiced at receiving the valuable book. It is no coincidence that Yura subscribed to the JINR Telegram channel. He loves chemistry, wants to devote his life to materials science and dreams of working at the United Institute. Yury's mother Elena Yakubova shared her impressions: "Thank you JINR for the wonderful gift! The book presents a complete biography of Yuri Oganessian from an early age: where he was born, how he grew up and studied, how he got to Dubna, as well as photographs from old archives. The book is simply gorgeous, we will definitely read it!"

Science through the looking glass

From 29 September to 1 October, the JINR University Centre organized the event "Science Through the Looking Glass" at the shopping and entertainment centre "Mayak". There was an interactive screen with overview information about JINR's scientific research. Researchers from the Institute demonstrated physical and chemical experiments and a master class on robotics.
