In memory of a comradeAntonin Janata passed away in Prague on 7 January, 2023.Having worked for many years at the Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems in the main specialty of a leading designer, he was a regular contributor to our newspaper. Dozens, if not hundreds of his remarks, interviews and historical reviews have made up a vivid history of the cultural life of the city. The readers of the newspaper and the editorial staff never tired of being surprised at how much Antonin had managed to do. His materials opened up new musical talents, introduced the monuments of history and culture to readers. Responsive to everything new, attentive, kind, cheerful and easy-going Antonin participated in excursion trips, educational lectures and seminars. In his short notes about concerts and performances, one always felt respect for performers, artists and as a rule, regret about half-empty halls... This is how he will live in our memory - phenomenally prompt, ubiquitous, with his own style, the leader of his author's column. Leaving for home, he left the following phrase in his farewell interview: "I have lived in Dubna a third of my life, half of my working life and I do not regret it." We sincerely condole with Antonin's family and friends, his colleagues at our Institute, with whom he so generously and joyfully shared his findings and discoveries. Editorial staff of the weekly "Dubna"
