Science-2024. What do scientists expect in the new year?

Under this heading on the portal "Scientific Russia" forecasts for activities and events have been published.

Next year, the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences will be celebrated. This is a significant date for Russian science that is marked by numerous forums, exhibitions and publications. When celebrating the anniversary, significant attention will be paid to St. Petersburg: in 2023, the Academy of Sciences opened a regional branch in the Northern capital.

In general, the year expects to be scientifically busy: this is the long-awaited launch of the NICA collider in Dubna and the completion of construction of the SKIF facility in the Novosibirsk region, the development of quantum computing and the further work on the establishment of a proton therapy centre in Moscow, as well as the expectation of new astronomical results, and also, medical and biological research in the field of astronautics, managing groups of robots and economic analysis of the possibility of technological independence.
