Traditional swims

On 3-4 March, the annual swimming competition in memory of Academician G.N.Flerov was held in the JINR Swimming pool "Archimedes".

The competition was opened by honored guests - Head of the JINR Social Infrastructure Department, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Deputies of Dubna Andrey Tamonov, Deputy Head of the City Administration Nikolay Madfes, Chairman of the Joint Committee of the JINR Trade Union Valery Nikolaev, Director of the Sports School "Dubna" Pavel Nasonov, Director of the JINR Sports Complex Vladimir Lomakin.

330 athletes and swimming veterans from Dubna, Moscow and nine cities of the Moscow region took part in the competition. The oldest participant was multiple champion and record holder of Europe and Russia, world champion in the Masters category Valentin Meshcheryakov (Moscow Club of Young Entrepreneurs), that will turn 90 this year. The start of the swim was given by the chief judge of the competition Sergey Egorov.

According to the sum of points in the swimming combined event, the winners of the competition among the citizens of Dubna in their age categories were Svetlana Islamgaleeva ("105th element"), Marina Inochenko, Alexander Malnev, Egor Iogin (Sports School "Dubna"), Danila Sobolev (Sports School "Dubna"). Silver medalists were members of the Club "105th element" Svetlana Gikal, Zoya Vozmilova, Vladimir Kishkin, Konstantin Kordakov, Dmitry Glushko, Dmitry Kharitonov (Dubna), Nikita Yurutin (Sports School "Dubna"). Bronze medalists were members of the Club "105th element" Irina Migulina, Nonna Burova, Alexey Bulakh, Alexey Altynov (Dubna), Kirill Shcherbakov (Sports School "Dubna").
