The JINR Scientists' Club is inviting to a lecture

On Friday, 17 May, Aslan Abashidze, Head of the Department of International Law of the RUDN University, Vice-Chairman of the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, professor at MGIMO University of the Russian Foreign Ministry will deliver a lecture.

The topic of the lecture is "The future architecture of the international legal order".

In it, he will address a number of important issues, for example, which of the current units of the collective security system should be preserved and what should be abandoned, which forces, other than sovereign states, can influence the process of establishing a new architecture of the international legal order and will also estimate Russia's role in this process. The lecture starts at 4:30 PM.

Aslan Abashidze, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation, is a member of the Executive Committee of the Russian Association of International Law, the European Association of International Law, the World Association of International Law, the Scientific Advisory Council of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Expert Council on International Law at the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation , Advisory Council under the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Expert Council under the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the International Law Commission of the United Nations Association of Russia (UNA-Russia). He is also an honorary professor at the L.N.Gumilev Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan) and an honorary professor at the Russian-Tajik (Slavic) University.

Aslan Abashidze has given lectures on current topics of international law at the Norwegian Institute of Human Rights, the Abo Academy (Finland), the Institute of International Relations of Thessaloniki (Greece), the Institute for Humanitarian Problems in San Remo (Italy), the Eurasian National University (Astana, Kazakhstan), Institute of Human Rights (Tashkent, Uzbekistan), Baku State University (Baku, Azerbaijan), Russian-Tajik (Slavic) University (Dushanbe, Tajikistan), European Interuniversity Centre for Human Rights and Democratization (Venice, Italy), International Institute human rights Rene Cassin (Strasbourg, France), University of Vienna (Austria), University of Padua (Italy), University of Grenoble Alpes (France), others.

Under his scientific supervision, more than 50 theses for the degree of candidate of legal sciences in the specialty "International law" have been defended, ten of them - by foreigners (Yemen, Cameroon, Mali, Nigeria, Pakistan, Syria, Ethiopia). He has also been a scientific consultant on three doctoral theses.

The professor has published more than a thousand scientific papers, including in the UK, USA, Sweden, Brazil, Finland, Greece, Italy, the Republic of Korea, China, Serbia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and other countries.
