The art of giving a mood

The New Year is approaching and this is the best time to sum up the results of the outgoing year. It is possible to realize more than intended only with a team that loves its work and is able to approach all work moments professionally, attentively and creatively every day. The World Team, as the employees of the Cultural Centre are called, is finishing the year beautifully and worthily and we certainly want to tell you about it.

Achievements and plans

In 2024, we held more than 100 events. We opened several art objects: a historical pen, a mosaic "Synthesis of arts", for young audience - a feeding trough "MirOk", a theater pedestal. The art object "Vysotsky's autograph" is currently prepared for opening.

We started the creative season with an Open Day that will certainly become a tradition. This event had a significant response from our guests and all the creative teams that held master classes on this day, presented their craft, performed, communicated with visitors, signed up for trial classes. We know that literally every studio was replenished with new participants thanks to this event.

This year, five new creative studios opened in the Cultural Centre "Mir": Bailamos - social dancing (bachata), Art stretching - artistic stretching, the musical group Studio 35, the art school of V.V.Vasilevsky, the group of intellectual board games Antimonopol. Thus, 17 creative groups currently develop in the Cultural Centre.

We have increased the number and frequency of children's events - performances for children of different genres are held at least twice a month. It has become a tradition to organize children's mass events under the auspices of science - it includes the Scientific New Year's tree and holidays for the Day of Knowledge and Children's Day in scientific topics.

I would definitely like to mention the new format "Audience on stage", when the artists and the audience are together on stage. Over the year, in such a space, we have held a series of lectures Music talk, have organized a lecture hall in the form of a music laboratory, have taught real music lessons and of course, have organized not large concerts.

We still develop the "Smart World" area - these are lectures, meetings and conversations with scientists. We try to fulfill the requests that the audience voices to us. Many wishes come in this area, including young scientists from AYSS that specially carry out social surveys to determine the people that should be invited first.

In addition to cooperation with theater and concert agencies, we work on strengthening cooperation with theaters. At present, we work on organizing a tour of the Satirikon theater - the play "Konstantin Raikin. In his own voice" of the Pushkin Theater and the Vakhtangov Theater. We are also going to hold children's tactile performances for the youngest, in the age category 0+. These are plasticine, puppet, interactive productions.

We also set ourselves the task of holding performances for teenagers and are already in cooperation with the "Theater project 27" - a theater from St. Petersburg that specializes in this area.

Exhibitions in the Cultural Centre "Mir" only have time to replace each other. We strive to demonstrate to our audience different genres and forms, including exhibitions of JINR artists, young artists, famous Russian artists, including wood artists, children's illustrators, graphic artists and others. Together with the founders of Dubna, a year ago, we implemented the New Year's exhibition "Yolka-Art".

We have started a tradition called "10 frames" - these are weekly publications on social networks of ten photographs reflecting behind-the-scenes moments from the life of the Cultural Centre - rehearsals, photos with artists, working moments of each of the services, our guests and colleagues, some unadvertised events. Since this section has become very popular, we will prepare it in future, as well as the development and modernization of media content for social networks.

Along with concert and exhibition activities, the work of creative studios, we also release our own projects. Currently, we are faced with the prospect of implementing two big creative ideas.

The first is "The voice of the world", an audio performance-walk in headphones, in which JINR scientists will be guides. For participants, it will be an opportunity to take a new look at scientific Dubna.

The second idea consists of two parts: an exhibition and a corporate calendar of JINR for 2026. Photos and descriptions of various physical phenomena will be used - on this topic we invite our artists to show their imagination and skill. The main idea: culture and science are facets of one holistic humanistic thinking, together they complement each other and become sources of mutual inspiration.

New Year's poster

Our holiday poster on 24 December will open with the exhibition "Tales of the peoples of the world" that will be presented by the JINR Artists Club "Quarks".

On 25 December, at 7:00 PM, there will be a New Year's concert of the Danilov Monastery Choir. We have been friends with this group for many years and are always happy to see them on tour with us. The concert will feature carols, shchedrovki, spiritual music, spiritual poems, the song "Ave Maria", modern songs ("To Saint Nicholas" and others) that will allow you to combine New Year's celebrations and modest anticipation of the Nativity of Christ.

On 27 December, at 7:00 PM, on our stage there will be a New Year's concert of a large cast of the Dubna Symphony Orchestra "P.I.Tchaikovsky "The Nutcracker". The festive concert programme will take the audience to the fairy-tale world of brilliant music from the collection of masterpieces of the great composer, music for the ballets "Swan Lake" and "The Nutcracker". More than 60 musicians, led by the conductor, winner of the Big Orchestral Prize "440 Herz" Sergey Pospelov, as always, with their performing skills will create an atmosphere of triumph of beauty and goodness in the hall that will delight listeners for a long time after the concert! And video projections of theatrical scenery will recreate the atmosphere of presence in the concert halls of the best theaters in the world.

On 29 December, at 12:00 AM and 4:00 PM, we invite children to the traditional Scientific New Year's trees "Magic journey through time". Young audience will find an amazing world of scientific discoveries, experiments and adventures. Real lightning will appear right on the stage, light bulbs will light up without wires and even play melodies. The performance includes exciting special effects, tricks, giant soap bubbles, safe explosions of liquid nitrogen and dry ice and after the performance, each child will receive a gift from Santa Claus!

On 3 January, at 12:00 AM and 3:00 PM, we are waiting for children and their parents at the performance "New Year's Gifts" performed by artists of the Moscow Regional Drama and Comedy Theater. We recommend coming to the show early, as half an hour before the show there will be an interlude, where children and adults will enjoy games, competitions, dancing and lots of fun.

On 5 January, at 5:00 PM, the New Classical Ballet will present P.I.Tchaikovsky's ballet "The Nutcracker". The troupe, founded in 2011, preserves the traditions of Russian classical ballet, applies new interesting world concepts in dance, tries new paths and solutions.

On 6 January, at 6:00 PM, the group "Elena and Her Men" (Elena et les garcons) will appear on our stage with a concert programme "Around the World New Year". This is the most famous multilingual project in Russia. This evening, favorite holiday songs and famous hits from different countries will be performed in seven languages. Guests of the concert will be treated to musical surprises and a new unusual performance of famous holiday hits Last Christmas, Happy New Year, Jingle Bells, Let it Snow, All I Want For Christmas Is You, as well as other New Year songs from different parts of the world.

On 8 January, at 4:00 PM, our stage will turn into the "Snow World". This is the name we gave to the theatrical Christmas concert of the creative groups of the Cultural Centre. This evening, the Chamber Choir "Credo", the Vocal Ensemble "Metelitsa" and the invited guest - singer Natalia Lerner will take the stage. The Theater Studio "Balaganchik" will take the audience to the world of magic. The Choreographic groups " Ballet of Dubna", Children's Art School "Inspiration", "Fantasy", "Fifth Element", Al Andalus Dance School, PhilosophyDANCE, Club "Kendo", Theater Laboratory "Kvadrat" will create a bright performance that we hope, will be remembered by audience. The participants and heads of the creative groups will give the audience a festive mood!

New Year is coming, new events, new plans and their accomplishments! Everything that the team of "Mir" does is exclusively to create a mood for our audience, to increase positive, bright, enthusiastic emotions and the desire to come back to us again!
