Across sciences

From 27 to 31 January, the 32th “Mathematics. Computing. Education” International Conference (MCU-2025) is taking place at the Pushchino Centre for Biological Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research is one of the event’s organizers.

The key feature of the “Mathematics. Computing. Education” Conference is its interdisciplinary nature. This annual event is aimed at consolidating the efforts of scientists and higher education workers, preserving the traditions of Russian science and education, improving the skills of scientific and educational personnel in mathematical modelling and information technology, and attracting young people to science and education.

An Organizing Committee representative, Scientific Leader of the Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies Vladimir Korenkov, who stood at the conference’s origins, gave a speech at the MCE-2025 opening. He congratulated those present on the 270th anniversary of the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), stressing that the MSU is not only the main organizer of the MCE conferences, but also its largest participant.

In addition, opening speeches were given by a leading researcher at the RAS Institute of Cell Biophysics Vladislav Komarov; a Professor at the MSU Faculty of Biology Galina Riznichenko; Deputy Director of the RAS Institute of Cell Biophysics Andrey Grinevich; Director of the Federal Research Center “RAS Pushchino Scientific Centre for Biological Research” Pavel Grabarnik. Deputy Head of the Serpukhov City District Alexey Vorobyov addressed the participants with a welcome speech on behalf of the disctrict’s Head Sergey Nikitenko.

The MCE-2025 programme includes thematic meetings to discuss the following areas: data analysis, machine learning, and artificial intelligence; computing methods and mathematical modelling; analysis of complex biological systems. Models and experiment; analysis and modelling of socio-economic processes; natural science, humanitarian, and IT education; museums in the modern world; Russian scientific language.

As part of the MCE-2025, a symposium entitled “Biophysics of complex systems. Computational and systems biology. Molecular modelling” with international participation and the round table “Cultural space of Russia” will be held.

Talks selected by meeting supervisors will be published in the collection of conference proceedings and in Computer research and modelling.
