The 60th anniversary of the establishment of the RAS
Scientific Council on Radiobiology

On 25-27 October, JINR hosts an anniversary conference "Current Problems in Radiation Biology. To the 60th Anniversary of the Establishment of the RAS Scientific Council on Radiobiology". A special guest of the conference is the Hero of the Russian Federation Pilot-Cosmonaut Sergey Avdeev.

On 25 October, the Plenum of the Scientific Council on Radiobiology of the Russian Academy of Sciences dedicated to the 60th anniversary of its development was held. It was dedicated to the development, history, basic stages of the Council's activities, its role in the development of radiobiology. During the meeting, organizational issues were discussed.

On 26-27 October, a conference "Current Problems in Radiation Biology" is held. Reports by leading scientists on topical issues and tasks in the light of current trends in the development of radiobiology and radioecology are presented to the participants. Reports are delivered by invited speakers and young scientists.

The Conference was opened by the co-chairs of the Conference LRB JINR Scientific Leader Academician Evgeny Krasavin, Chairman of the RAS Scientific Council on Radiobiology Academician Igor Ushakov, Scientific Leader of the All-Russian Research Institute of Radiology and Agroecology Academician Natalia Sanzharova. The Hero of the Russian Federation Pilot-Cosmonaut Sergey Avdeev addressed to the participants of the event with a welcoming speech.
