JINR Information Centre in Tunisia

On 19 May, the technical opening of the first JINR Information Centre in the international organization, the Arab Atomic Energy Agency (AAEA) was held on the basis of the AAEA Headquarters in Tunisia. The JINR delegation headed by the Special Representative of the JINR Director for Cooperation with International and Russian Scientific Organizations Boris Sharkov was welcomed by AAEA Director General Professor Salem Hamdi.

The official ceremony at the AAEA Headquarters was widely covered by the local media. The representatives of AAEA and the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as Directorate of the Institute of Nuclear Sciences and Technologies as a representative of Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research participated in the opening.

The participants of the ceremony shared their impressions and discussed plans for the future. Heads of the delegations ceremonially signed the protocol of the Joint Coordination Committee recently held via videoconference that plans the interaction between AAEA and JINR. The Committee consolidated the plans for the opening and launch of the JINR Information Centre at AAEA.
