"I would like to thank all vigorous citizens of Dubna, children and parents, schoolchildren and teachers, veterans and youth, employees of city enterprises and organizations for participating in the traditional environmental event "Our Forest. Plant your own tree," Mayor of the city Maxim Andreevich Tikhomirov noted at the opening of the ceremony. Many participants came with children that really enjoyed the tree planting process. The atmosphere of the Earth on this day provided sunny weather, the organizers - tea and pies and the participants - friendly work accompanied by music and a great mood. About fifty staff members from JINR, including young scientists and specialists, took part in landscaping the favorite summer and winter vacation spot. Some of them were happy to share their impressions. Madalina Miloy (Romania): I would like to spend my whole life in Dubna and planting trees is one of the small contributions I can make to the city. I will also be pleased to see how the trees I planted grow year after year. Victoria Makarova, a student of Kazan Federal University, in practice at JINR: The event immediately interested me. Everything is well organized. And most importantly, a large company gathered in the fresh air. We are happy to help Dubna. Thanks for this opportunity! Maria Mardyban: There are a lot of adults and children here today. This is a great opportunity for the whole family to spend a productive day off in the fresh air. Roman Yesaulkov: I think this event is an excellent initiative. How many people came here! It is clear that everyone is interested and more can be done. There is still a lot of free space in Dubna and I think we should strive to ensure that Dubna lives up to its name and is a large oak forest. Nugzar Makhaldiani, has been working at JINR for more than 40 years: I live nearby and know these places well. Both before and today, I plant seedlings of pine trees and fir trees. A good, nice company has gathered here. There are young scientists around. Everything is great! Health and good luck to everyone! Ignacio Hernandez (Cuba): I love Dubna for its greenery: parks, squares. It's an honor for me to take part in this event - it's interesting, it's a good motivation to keep Dubna green. I'm happy to be here. Ronaldo Mendez (Cuba): I think this is a wonderful event because in this way, we help nature. It's a little help from people to recover from the damage we do to it. There's also a good company here and it's fun. I'm glad I took part. And a part of me will remain to grow here in Dubna.
On this day, the citizens of the Left bank area of Dubna also came out to support the beauty of their city. They revived the alley on the Karl Marx street, along houses № 4, 6, 8, linden and maple trees were planted (30 large trees). And near the house № 34, on the same street, six rowan trees were added to the 13 that were planted a year ago. We thank the Chairman of the AYSS Vladislav Rozhkov for the information provided.
