Meeting on computing

On 12 December, the MEPhI-JINR workshop on computing for the NICA megascience project was held in a mixed format at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.

Modern IT techniques and approaches to accumulating, storing, simulating and physical analysis of data from experiments at NICA were discussed. The emphasis was on developing distributed environments for processing and storing data. The topics for discussion included training to meet the issues of the NICA megaproject.

Employees of NRNU MEPhI spoke about the participation of the research university in the NICA project and the university's new master's educational programme at the intersection of particle physics and computer science. The leaders of MLIT JINR presented information about the laboratory's scientific research and distributed computing in high energy physics.

Researchers from MLIT, VBLHEP and DLNP JINR gave reports on the development of a set of programmes for simulating, obtaining and processing data from the MPD experiment, software systems for processing data from the BM@N experiment on the NICA complex, software from the SPD experiment collaboration, distributed processing and generation of data from MPD and BM@N experiments, as well as about the ML/DL/HPC ecosystem of the HybriLIT platform for developers and training courses.
