On 24 January, the Decree of President of the Russian Federation "On State Awards of the Russian Federation" was signed. For his great contribution to the development of scientific and technological cooperation between Russia and Belarus, Chairman of the JINR Scientific Council, Academician of the Belarusian and Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Ya. KILIN was awarded the Order of Friendship.

Sergey Kilin is a famous scientist-physicist, specialist in quantum optics and quantum information science, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, the author of more than 620 scientific papers, including 6 monographs. He was awarded the Lenin Komsomol Prize of Belarus (1982) for the series of articles "Quantum theory of resonance scattering of laser radiation". He is the Winner of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus (2002) for the series of papers "Quantum electrodynamics and coherent nuclear processes in the environment: quantum and nuclear optics". In 2014, he was awarded the Francysk Skaryna Medal.
