Science Through the Looking Glass events

From 29 September to 1 October 2023, employees of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research will hold the Science Through the Looking Glass series of popular science events for Dubna residents at the Mayak Shopping Centre.

From 29 September to 1 October, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, a magic portal to the world of science will open in the hall of the ground floor of the Mayak Shopping Centre. The guests will learn more about the research directions of each of the seven laboratories of the Institute. Those who pass a short computer quiz get the opportunity to launch a virtual collider and observe the process of particle collision. The visitors will get acquainted with scientists working at the forefront of science and take a virtual trip to a unique world-class scientific facility that is unavailable to the general public.

Programme for children:

29 September, Friday:
6:00 PM — 7:00 PM — interactive show. Physics experiments;

30 September, Saturday:
1:00 PM — 2:00 PM — interactive show. Physics experiments;
5:00 PM – 6:00 PM — interactive show. Chemistry experiments;

1 October, Sunday:
1:00 PM — 2:00 PM — interactive show. Chemistry experiments;
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM — robotics workshop.
