This world, invented by us!

Traditionally, on New Year's Eve, we discuss with Director of the Cultural Centre "Mir", member of the Union of Theater Workers of the Russian Federation Eleonora Yamaleeva what this year was like for the Cultural Centre, what happened, how it was remembered and what creative gifts await the audience during the holidays.

World of creativity

We are interested in developing the area of joint creativity with the audience. For this purpose, we have an exhibition hall where we carry out original master classes and excursions, topical parties and lectures by exhibition authors. In autumn, for example, one of the brightest moments was the creation of a mosaic art object, in which the contribution of each participant in Mikhail Polyakov's master class is visible. This floor mosaic displays the facets of the world of creativity and in spring, it will take its place in front of the Cultural Centre.

Variety of genres

We invite viewers to vote for certain projects and thereby make discoveries for ourselves. This year, there has been a wide variety of creative events, the most unusual, in my opinion, have been rock hits on Scottish bagpipes, an A cappella show, Stand up... The latter amazed with the audience response: without a single printed poster, the tickets were sold out in a few days. The peak of interest was aroused by our new series "Smart world" that included a lecture by Vyacheslav Dubynin on the efficiency of brain function. We still develop the area of public lectures and negotiate with iconic personalities.

We make wishes come true

The interests of the public are so polar that our task is to have time to propose topics and fulfill the audience's wishes. For example, once, at the request of a children's camp, we conducted a tour of the backstage of the Cultural Centre and today, we regularly show children's groups how the stage works, we go into the dressing rooms, the costume room, the decoration room... On average, we have 13 events every month. Each requires elaboration throughout the entire cycle: from preparation of the event to the moment when everything is successfully completed. Between these two points there is an unlimited number of things to do. Arranging this work filigree is a great art.

Audience on stage

We created an unusual format "Hall on stage". It makes a special impression on the audience, since the audience is in close proximity to the performers, literally becoming participants in the action. In the new year, we are going to have a variety of productions and genres for the "Hall on stage," including a series of lectures within the framework of the music laboratory of the Cultural Centre "Mir". We will dedicate our first lectures to the unique work "Pictures at an exhibition" that turns 150 years old in 2024. Over the course of four lecture-meetings, Mussorgsky's music will literally come to life for everyone that is interested in discovering the true meanings and grandiose innovative plans of the great Russian composer.

New studios

Creative seasons begin in September, when everyone returns from vacation after summer and concert activity resumes. So, since the new season, three more creative teams have joined us and all of them are choreographic. They are the tap studio of Christina Faber (directed by K.V.Fedorova), the choreographic group "Fifth Element" (directed by V.V.Gorlanova) and the historical dance studio (directed by E.S.Demicheva). Today, we have 14 teams.

Special responsibility

Together with JINR, we organize a significant part of creative and educational events. This year, a number of exhibitions have been held: "Big science", "Bulgaria's contribution to the cultural heritage of the Slavs", "Bruno Maksimovich". Concerts dedicated to the Founding Day of JINR "Harmony of the spheres: art and science" and to the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture were successfully held with the participation of creative groups from Dubna and invited artists from Bulgaria and Serbia. A documentary film about Bruno Pontecorvo has been shown twice. We also host events for participants of conferences, international workshops and in the small hall throughout the year - excursions to the interactive exhibition "Basic facilities of JINR". Projects with performances by artists at the synchrophasotron site are unique - "Physics and art merge into a single whole". Joint events are very valuable for us, we have a special relationship with them, since it is participation in the history of our Institute.

Theater season

We spent the theater season with our reliable partners - the concert agency "Courage concert". We are very united by our approach to work: we love what we do and take every event very seriously. Working with actors is paramount for us: this means anticipation of all sorts of moments related to organizing tours, extreme clarity in everything and a high level of organization. We always care about decent advertising and we think the same way when it comes to canceling events: we strive to do everything to save every event. It's always easier not to do it, but it's important for us to do it, make an effort and see the result of our work. You know how valuable it is, after going through a series of impossibilities, to look at each other at the moment when the lights in the hall go out, the artist comes out and the action begins. And only we know all the way to the final applause... In general, the words "partnership" and "cooperation" contain a lot of meaning. It is important to live up to each other and the promises made, to be reliable, flexible, listened and grateful.
