AYSS Chairman Vladislav Rozhkov gave a report on the work carried out in 2023 and afterwards, launched the election of a new head of the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists and the AYSS Council. The elections were held in the form of online voting on 28-29 March.

Together with Chairman, the membership of the AYSS Council was approved: Alexander Nezvanov (FLNP) - deputy chairman, Regina Kozhina (LRB) - secretary of the Council, Dina Badreeva (MLIT), Maria Mardyban (BLTP), Lyudmila Kolupaeva (DLNP), Ksenia Ilyina (BLHEP), Kirill Berestov (FLNR), Ekaterina Kolosova (CPED).

Reporting on the work over the past year, Vladislav Rozhkov spoke about the main events and successes of 2023. One of these important events was the 12th International Conference of Young Scientists and Specialists "Alushta-2023" that was held on 4-11 June at the JINR Resort Hotel "Dubna" in Alushta. This time, representatives of six countries took part in it. The participants discussed the tasks of the Institute's laboratories in the context of the new JINR Seven-Year Plan, key JINR projects and recent achievements. This conference was the "youngest" - the average age of participants was 28 years.

Also, on 19-23 June, the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists of JINR held the first School of Accelerator Physics. Almost three dozen young specialists gathered at the JINR Tourist Base "Lipnya" to get an idea of accelerator physics and to learn about the latest achievements of science and technology in the field of charged particle beam physics and accelerator technology. As part of the School, Institute employees attended a course of lectures from leading scientists and specialists on the basic operating principles and main systems of charged particle accelerators.

One of the key events, the International Conference of Young Scientists and Specialists AYSS, that was held over a week in autumn, brought together young people from many parts of the world and gave them the opportunity to talk about the results of their activities. This year, the conference was memorable for everyone, almost the entire JINR infrastructure was involved, the number of participants reached 240. Students from various universities in Russia and abroad were widely involved. Many of them met JINR for the first time. This year, the entire scientific programme, both plenary and parallel sections, was broadcast to JINR information centres that are located in different parts of the world.

Seminars are regularly held in the JINR Scientists' Club: currently, their number has already exceeded fifty. There are German and English clubs, as well as a film club.

All incentive tools that exist at the Institute are available to young scientists. These are AYSS grants, the JINR Prize for young scientists and specialists, personalized scholarships in laboratories, prizes for the best poster reports at PAC poster sessions, a one-time prize from JINR Directorate for awarding a degree, housing certificates of the Moscow region, a prize from the Governor of the Moscow region, grants from the Government of the Moscow region area.
