About what the newspaper wrote on this day 21 years agoNo. 7 (3695), 27 February, 2004 Another stage of the IBR-2 modernization programme has been completed. At the IBR-2 movable reflector (MR) stand in FLNP, the assembly of the new reflector for the modernized reactor was completed in full and pilot launch was carried out. According to Head of the Mechanical and Technological Department of IBR-2 A.Belyakov, this day was preceded by five years of work - first the design of the software, afterwards, its manufacture, assembly without a casing and extensive adjustment work. And finally, the new reflector is fully assembled, the casing, manufactured from stainless steel for the first time is mounted and launched on the stand. The software will run for 72 hours without interruption.
The main group, constantly working on the stand, is our striking force, with the leading technologist of the Department V.Voronkin, Head of Group A.Zatsepin, mechanics of experimental stands R.Yarovikov, V.Komissarchikov, N.Shilin. The employees of Design Bureau and experimental production of FLNP, IBR-2 Control and Protection System, electricians, vacuum workers worked on the new reflector. When the tests are completed, the reflector will be disassembled and transported to the reactor building. *** BLTP hosted the International Conference "Classical and quantum integrable systems" dedicated to the memory of the remarkable Russian theoretical physicist M.V.Saveliev. As Chairman of the Organizing Committee A.Isaev highlighted, the Conference attracted a number of outstanding specialists in mathematics and mathematical physics. It largely determined its high scientific level. For example, the Conference was attended by two winners of the D.Heyneman Prize of the American Physical Society, the most prestigious international prize in mathematical physics, L.Faddeev and A.Zamolodchikov. It should be reminded that in different years, this Prize was also awarded to N.N.Bogolyubov, R.Penrose, C.G.Wilson, S.Weinberg and to many other outstanding mathematicians and theoretical physicists. I would like to emphasize that Alexander Zamolodchikov (Rutgers University, USA), as well as his brother Alexey (University of Montpellier, France) that also participated in the Conference, grew up in Dubna and are pupils of the wonderful teachers of Dubna School No.8 G.V.Morozova (mathematics) and E.P.Mamaeva (physics). New results and techniques of construction of exact solutions for classical integrable prototypes and their quantization, as well as new results obtained recently in the investigation of quantum prototypes of statistical physics were presented at the Conference. *** Dubna starts implementation of one of the largest innovation projects for Russia - establishing Russian Programming Centre (possibly, 10 thousand new workplaces). "With the establishment of this centre, of innovation and technology incubator, Russia will start to master another export industry - software product in an integrated way," Dubna Mayor V.E.Prokh emphasized. *** The 5th jubilee futsal tournament among junior teams "M.G.Meshcheryakov Memorial" was held in the JINR Sports Club. Teams from Moscow, Khabarovsk, Podolsk, Solnechnogorsk and the hosts - the team "Dubna-Junior" took part in it. The previous two years, our boys took the second place in this tournament that was held in Spain. But this time, our boys showing a great will to win, brought the cup back to Dubna, beating all opponents. Columnist Irina LEONOVICH, |
