The next International Symposium on Exotic Nuclei (EXON-2004) is scheduled for the first decade of July, 2004. The organizers of the Symposium are the FLNR JINR (Dubna), RIKEN (Wako-shi), GSI (Darmstadt), GANIL(Caen) – the scientific centers, where exotic nuclei have been intensively studied. The Symposium will proceed in two stages. During the first four days (5-8 July) the sessions will be held in Peterhof, a town situated 25 km from St.Petersburg on the shores of the Finnish gulf (the Baltic sea). It is a picturesque area with its own unique climate, and it is widely known for its beautiful palaces and fountains. During 8-12 July the sessions will be held on board a comfortable cruise ship, the route of which will lay along Lakes Ladoga and Onega, with stops at such beautiful places as Kizhi and Valaam, where one can see world famous Russian architectural attractions. We hope that these exotic and astonishing places will promote the fruitful work of the Symposium and will improve the collaboration of physicists from different countries. The Symposium will be devoted to the investigation of nuclei in extreme states and, in particular, at the limits of nuclear stability (from very light neutron- and proton-rich up to superheavy nuclei). The Topics to be discussed are: The program will include oral and poster presentations of contributed papers. It is expected that during the Symposium there will be enough time for informal meetings at which one can discuss future prospects of joining the efforts of different scientific centers for performing joint investigations.
